Mens Discipleship Statement of Faith
1 Corinthians 15:3
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures
First and foremost, we must strive for the most thorough understanding of God's devine revelation of Salvation, a.k.a...the atonement.
Only through a thorough understanding of Salvation, can we be effective men in our communities, families, schools, and churches. We must
understand it's nature in multiple echelons of importance.
1. We must understand how God's work of salvation a)vindicates his
righteousness and b)plays the pivitol role in God's sovereign planning of securing his ultimate glory in the universe. Amen.
2. We must understand that the Gospel is not about men. It is about God. We are a) saved by grace alone through faith alone
and ultimately, we deserve the richest most amazing punishment fathomable (and more that is not) because of our sinful rebellion against
a holy and righteous God. b)It is by Grace that God uses faith as a means to re-unite us with himself. Not for our eternal benefit, but
for the eternal praise of his glorious grace.
3. Our ultimate gift from God is NOT heaven. Our ultimate gift from God is the righteousness of his son imputed to us through the
gift of faith that a)brings us into fellowship with a holy, righteous, amazing, unfathomably beautiful, loving, wrathful, vengful, jealous,
artistic, sovereign God, who is the beginning and end of all things, and b) brings us into his amazing plan of salvation for the elect, and ultimately,
(due to no work/desire/will/deed of our own), makes us tools in the hand of a sovereign God who, according to his good pleasure and will, weaves us into the
greatest story ever told.
We, as men who esteem the bible highly, thoroughly and unequivicolly, who believe that the bible is the Holy Spirit inspired, innerent, infallible, unchanging revelation of
himself to us, stand firm on the doctrine of God centered worship that is clearly explained by our Loving Lord in scripture. Ultimately, we believe that our ability to even
say such things, much less believe them, was purchased for us on the cross, through the death of the perfect Son of God, who had the full cup of his fathers wrath poured out
on him in our place. To him be praise and glory forever. Amen.
